The legal battle centers on claims that the pair enriched themselves by purchasing interests in firms shortly before Raiffeisen or the payments company Aduno acquired them. Prosecutors maintain that Vincenz abused company credit cards for personal use, including trips to Dubai, visits to strip clubs, and a Tinder date, all billed to the bank. Vincenz has consistently dismissed these accusations, arguing the expenditures were necessary for cultivating business relationships.
In April 2022, a Zurich district court rejected that defense, handing Vincenz a sentence of three years and nine months for fraud, unfaithful business management, and passive bribery. Stocker received a four-year term. While the Zurich high court initially overturned the verdict on procedural grounds in 2024, the Federal Supreme Court intervened to reinstate the case.
