The Cayman Islands Pickleball Association is scouting talent for its national senior squad, inviting players aged 50 and older to secure a spot for the 2026 Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam. Interested athletes must meet specific residency requirements to represent the islands on the international stage.
Tryouts are scheduled at Pickleball Cayman for two sessions: Sunday, 17 May, and 7 June. Both events run from 2pm to 5pm. To qualify, participants must be Caymanian or hold a work permit with at least five years of continuous residency, though the association noted that special cases remain under consideration. Candidates should register by emailing cipba.tryout@gmail.com.The chosen team will travel to Vietnam for the tournament, scheduled for 30 August to 6 September 2026. The World Cup has expanded rapidly since its 2023 debut, growing from a modest field of 14 athletes to a massive global event drawing 3,000 participants from 68 countries in 2025. The upcoming competition will host hundreds of matches across pro and amateur brackets, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles formats.
