Five schools surged past 100 runs during the second day of the 2026 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition on May 15. While the offensive output hit historic heights for the tournament, competitive margins remained razor-thin, with several matches decided by just a handful of runs across the island’s primary school league.
The high-scoring trend defined the day’s play, though victory did not always follow a triple-digit performance. In the boys' Zone B bracket, Cayman Prep A dismantled Sir John A Cumber Primary 117-54, while Marie Martin Primary outpaced Cayman International School 113-52. St Ignatius Catholic also cleared the century threshold, finishing at 109-50 against Cayman Prep B.First Baptist Christian School found success in both divisions, with their boys’ team securing a 124-108 win over Island Primary B. However, the day saw tighter contests elsewhere, particularly in the girls' leagues. Edna Moyle Primary narrowly edged Theoline L McCoy Primary 54-53, mirroring the tension seen in St Ignatius Catholic's 82-80 victory over Cayman Prep B. Several fixtures, including the Island Primary A versus Prospect Primary matchup, were postponed.
The tournament, running through June, utilizes 12-over formats for boys and eight-over matches for girls across 15 participating schools. Coordinated by the Department of Education Services, the Department of Sports, and the Cayman Cricket Association, the league continues to rotate venues each Friday afternoon.
