Javed Jaffrey
Jaaved Jaaferi, born Syed Jaaved Ahmed Jaffrey on 4 December 1962 in Mumbai, is an Indian actor, dancer, comedian, andpolitician. He is the son of renowned comedian Jagdeep. He married Habiba Jaffrey in 1991 and has three children, including actor Meezaan Jafri. Jaaved has had a successful career in Indian cinema, television, and theadvertising industrysince 1985.
Jaaferi gained recognition with his role in the film Meri Jung (1985), where he showcased his acting and dancing skills. He later became a popular television personality, hosting shows such as Boogie Woogie, Flashback, and Once More. His comic and hosting talents were highlighted in his work on the Japanese shows Takeshi's Castle and Ninja Warrior. Jaaved'sfilmographyincludes notable performances in films like Salaam Namaste, Dhamaal, 3 Idiots, and Lupt.
He has also contributed to animated films, voicing characters like Charlie Anna in Roadside Romeo. Jaaferi is known for his involvement in advertisements, particularly the long-running Maggi Hot & Sweet Sauce campaign.
In 2014, Jaaved entered politics, joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He contested the 2014 Indian general election from the Lucknow constituency but finished fifth.
His achievements include winning an IIFA award for his comic role in Salaam Namaste and a National Film Award for hisproductionof the documentary Inshallah, Football. Jaaferi continues to be a versatile figure in the entertainment industry, appearing in films, television, and advertisements.
