Stefan Thomas

Stefan Thomasis the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ripple, a San Francisco-based blockchain company that provides payment solutions to its customers globally. He has been working for Ripple since 2013 and is also the creator of the Interledger Protocol (ILP), an open-source standard for connecting payment networks.

Thomas was an early contributor to Bitcoin and created thefirst Bitcoin implementationin JavaScript, called BitcoinJS, which is now used by numerous blockchain companies. He also produced the popular "What is Bitcoin?" video, which introduced millions of users to the concept of Bitcoin. Additionally, Thomas was involved in the development of Mojaloop, an open-source payment switch that connects mobile wallets in developing markets.
