Dominic Scriven
Dominic Scrivenis the founder and executive chairman ofDragon Capital,a fund house based in Ho Chi Minh City. He is the leading private investor in Vietnam and has played a crucial role in the country's economic and political development. Dominic was awarded an OBE from Queen Elizabeth in 2006 and the "Labour Medal" by the Vietnamese president in 2014 for his contribution to the country's economy. Scriven founded Dragon Capital in 1994 with just eight employees and assets under management of USD 16 million. Today, the company manages assets worth USD 2.3 billion, making it the largest investor in Vietnamese stocks after the government. He is actively involved in several public Vietnamese offices, advising the government on the development of a pension program and playing a prominent role in the conservation of Vietnam's wildlife and biodiversity. At SKAGEN's New Year's Conference in 2018, he shared his experiences and insights on investing in frontier market stocks, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of various industries in Vietnam and providing his outlook on the future of the region.
