Peter Van Valkenburgh

Peter Van Valkenburghis an American Cryptolawyer who currently serves as the Director of Research at Coin Center, a non-profit research and advocacy center focused on public policy issues facing cryptocurrencies. He has been involved in the cryptocurrency industry since 2013 when he became a Google Policy Fellow for TechFreedom, where he drafted and edited policy and litigation briefs.

Van Valkenburgh joined Coin Center asthe Director of Research in 2014,where he is responsible for providing policy reports and backgrounders for policymakers. During his time at Coin Center, he has testified before Congress, briefed legislators in the U.S. and European Union, and developed a network of thinkers, academics, and experts in the field of cryptocurrency.

In addition to his work at Coin Center, Van Valkenburgh is aBoard Member at the Zcash Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on the development and promotion of the privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash. He has been an influential figure in the cryptocurrency industry and is widely recognized as an expert on cryptocurrency regulation and policy.
