Ted Decker
Ted Decker is the chair, president, and CEO ofThe Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer. With over2,300 stores and 500,000 associates, he leads the company in providing a seamless interconnected shopping experience for both professional and do-it-yourself customers while upholding the company's unique culture.
Prior to his current role,from 2020 to 2022, Ted served as the president and chief operating officer, overseeing global store operations, supply chain, outside sales and service, real estate, as well as merchandising, marketing, and online strategy. During this time, he focused on enhancing the company's capabilities to blend online and in-store experiences to better serve customers.
Ted has been with The Home Depot since 2000and has held various strategic positions within the company, includingchief merchant and executive vice president of merchandising. In this role, he was responsible for store and online merchandising departments, merchandising strategy, marketing, vendor management, and in-store environment.
Before joining The Home Depot, Ted worked in business development, strategic planning, and finance atKimberly-Clark Corp. and Scott Paper Co.He also gained experience in corporate finance, lending, and credit positionsat PNC Bank. Ted's international experience includes living and working in England and Australia.
Beyond his work at The Home Depot, Ted isa board member of the Atlanta Committee for Progress. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from The College of William and Mary and a master's degree in business administration fromCarnegie Mellon University.
