Lee Kun Hee

Lee Kun-hee, born on January 9, 1942, and passing away on October 25, 2020, was a South Korean business magnate and the influential chairman of Samsung Group. Serving in this role from 1987 to 2008 and then again from 2010 until his death, Lee Kun-hee played a crucial role in transforming Samsung into one of the world's largest and most diversified conglomerates, excelling in semiconductors, smartphones, electronics, shipbuilding, and construction.

As the third son of Samsung founder Lee Byung-chul, Lee Kun-hee led Samsung during a period of immense growth, making it the world's top manufacturer of smartphones, memory chips, and appliances. Despite facing legal challenges, including convictions for corruption and tax evasion in 1996 and 2008, he was pardoned on both occasions. His leadership and vision earned him the title of the richest person in South Korea from 2007, with an estimatednet worth of $21 billion at the time of his death.
