Alex Martinez

Alex Martinez is an executive and entrepreneur with a diverse background in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, and law. He brings a decade of leadership experience in founding clinical-stage therapeutics.

Alex is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Intrinsic Medicine, Inc. (formerly Lupa Bio), a Seattle-based biotech company that has preclinical programs developing the oligosaccharides for conditions including atopic dermatitis, autism spectrum disorder, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Prior to his role at Intrinsic Medicine, he served in key positions, including the Director, Corporate Development of Ionis Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company headquartered in Carlsbad, California, specializing in developing RNA-targeted therapeutics.

Alex also co-founded Engineered Care, Inc., and co-founded and served as Director of Business Development and Legal Affairs and as a board member of a clinical-stage digital health company.With a background in law, Alex was an associate attorney with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a U.S. law firm headquartered in Palo Alto specialising in business, securities and corporate law.

He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Health & Societies from the University of Pennsylvania, equipped well in corporate law, governance, and venture capital, enhancing his ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
