Katina Sawyer

Dr. Katina Sawyer is an Associate Professor of Management and Organisations at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management. She is also the Co-Founder of Workr Beeing, a platform that provides science-based tools to support employee well-being and organisational health.

Dr. Sawyer has more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and consulting. Her areas of expertise include diversity, equity and inclusion, positive workplace behaviours, leadership, and employee well-being. She has worked as an Assistant Professor at Villanova University andGeorge Washington Universitybefore joining the University of Arizona in 2022.

She is the co-author of the bookLeading for Wellness, which focuses on leadership practices that promote health and performance at work. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and has been cited in outlets such asHarvard Business Review,Forbes, andFast Company. She has received research grants from the National Science Foundation and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Dr. Sawyer has been recognised with several honours, including the Scientist-Practitioner Presidential Recognition by the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology and a place in Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40.” She has also served on editorial boards for journals likeJournal of Applied Psychologyand theJournal of Business and Psychology.

She has worked in roles such as Chief Talent Scientist at MotiveX and provided consultancy through K. Sawyer Solutions. She has also volunteered with organisations focused on women’s rights, education, and career mentorship. Her work continues to focus on making workplaces more inclusive, healthier, and supportive for employees from all backgrounds.

She earned a dual PhD in Industrial/Organisational Psychology and Women’s Studies from Pennsylvania State University in 2012, and a BA in Psychology from Villanova University in 2006.
