Pierre Burgy
Pierre Burgy is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer ofStrapi, an open-source content management framework that enables developers to build APIs quickly and securely. He co-founded Strapi alongside Aurélien and Jim. The company is headquartered in Paris, France, with significant connections to the tech scene in San Francisco, California, where Pierre also has professional ties.
Before founding Strapi, Pierre worked as a full stack developer and front-end developer for several companies. He freelanced as a full stack developer at Checkout.com inLondon. Prior to that, he spent some time as a front-end developer in the London area. He also freelanced for Oui Will in the Greater San Diego region. His broad experience in both front-end and full stack development helped shape his technical skills and understanding of software engineering, which proved essential in building Strapi.
Pierre is a strong advocate for open-source software, remote work, and people-first company cultures. Strapi reflects these values by being a widely adopted open-source framework that supports developers worldwide. The platform aims to simplify API creation by making it accessible, fast, and secure without compromising flexibility or customisation. Under Pierre’s leadership, Strapi has grown steadily since its launch and has become one of the most advanced open-source CMS frameworks in the industry.
Pierre holds a Master’s degree in Web Design, Web Development, and Web Marketing from HETIC, a prominent digital technology school in France. He also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Marketing, Sales, and Corporate Finance from EGC Business School.
Outside of his professional work, Pierre enjoys outdoor activities such as windsurfing and mountain biking, which indicate his interest in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
