Excluding the energy sector, which is forecast to more than double its profits, the growth rate for the remaining companies on the index drops to just 10.3 percent. Despite this reliance on a single sector, the overall picture shows signs of stabilization. Revenue is expected to climb 11.7 percent, marking a clean break from four consecutive quarters of contraction, according to data covering 225 companies.
Market expectations remain varied across industries. Basic materials are positioned for strong gains, while technology and financials anticipate moderate double-digit growth. Conversely, real estate, consumer cyclicals, and healthcare are currently tracking as the weakest performers. Investors are now turning their attention to a critical reporting week, with 46 STOXX 600 companies scheduled to disclose results, including BP, Novo Nordisk, and HSBC.
