While these standards were once industry norms, the landscape is shifting. Carriers like Virgin Atlantic and SkyUp Airlines have recently moved toward more inclusive policies, allowing for visible tattoos, comfortable footwear, and relaxed dress codes. Looking back from her current life as a journalist in Ontario, Vasylieva views the decade-long demand for aesthetic perfection as an outdated relic, noting that while the role taught her personal discipline, the true evolution lies in moving away from one-size-fits-all beauty mandates.
