In July, Krim and her family flew from Chicago to Massachusetts, loading a 26-foot truck with decades of accumulated history. The haul included everything from 90s Japanese imports and Star Wars figures to classic tin robots and Cabbage Patch dolls. Now, as she methodically unpacks the boxes in Chicago, she is transforming her parents' former business, Krim’s World, into a new venture she calls Krim’s Clubhouse.
Beyond the nostalgia, Krim has set a specific goal: verifying the collection’s size to secure a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. She is currently cataloging the wind-up toys—a childhood obsession that once made her the target of playground teasing—to prove the claims her parents made years ago. For Krim, the project is less about the inventory and more about preserving a family legacy, turning her parents' early inheritance into a tangible connection to her own past.
