Amit Verma
Amit Verma is an Associate Professor of Management and Supply Chain Management at Missouri Western State University, United States. He has over nine years of academic experience at Missouri Western, where he currently teaches and conducts research in supply chain management, logistics, business analytics, and optimisation methods. His teaching specialty focuses on supply chain systems, logistics optimisation, and analytical decision-making.
Dr. Verma holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management Science from the University of Iowa, completed between 2009 and 2014. His doctoral research involved the optimisation of supply chain processes using advanced mathematical modelling tools such as AMPL, MATLAB, and CPLEX. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), India, earned between 2002 and 2006.
Before joining Missouri Western State University, he served as an Assistant Professor of Logistics at Delta State University from 2014 to 2016. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Iowa, supporting research and teaching activities related to optimisation and management science. He also brings industry experience from his role as a Staff Consultant atOracle, where he worked for around three years in the CRM and Order Management domains, providing design and implementation support for global clients.
Dr. Verma’s research interests span supply chain optimisation, logistics optimisation, heuristic design, combinatorial optimisation, quadratic programming, and quantum optimisation. His work includes practical applications of Quantum Unconstrained Binary Optimisation (QUBO) for solving complex real-world problems. He has authored and co-authored several research publications in supply chain management, logistics, and optimisation, contributing to both academic theory and applied decision-making.
In addition to his academic research, he has experience in consulting,ERP systems, CRM, and SCM implementations, covering design, implementation, upgrades, and support. His professional certifications include Siebel CCC Certified Professional and SAP R/3 TERP 10.
Amit Verma is known for integrating management science, optimisation techniques, and emerging computing methods into supply chain and logistics research, with a strong focus on practical and analytical solutions grounded in real-world applications.
